Housing for People, Not For Profit

Mountainlands Community Housing Trust (MCHT) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Founded in 1993, MCHT is based on the belief that a safe affordable home is often a family’s first step toward economic self-sufficiency. MCHT addresses the dual problems of housing affordability and availability on three fronts: acquisition and new construction of affordable housing, direct assistance in securing housing and needed basic services, and education and advocacy to promote housing policy.

Executive Director's Letter

Summer 2009

In over eight years as the Executive Director of Mountainlands Community Housing Trust (MCHT), I have never seen as many affordable homes available as there are today. There are approximately 150 restricted for-sale homes available throughout Summit County. Unit recently, MCHT has been involved in one or two re-sales per year. In the past few weeks, I have been contacted by several owners of restricted units about selling their homes. Now is the best time ever to obtain ownership of an affordable home.
